What do you think of the Solstice?

I've been hearing a lot of "chick car" crap about the new Pontiac Solstice. Quite frankly I think its looks awesome. I've only seen one in person, but from the picures I think it looks great. Take the Miata's drivetrain, and the Solstice's body, and you've got the perfect car. Best thing Pontiac has done in ages.

I'll say it's a little girlie, but I'd still love to have one. It looks good, but I would like to see a little more power in it.

I think it is like the Miata...lots of people look at it as a girly car, but when you drive one, it definitely won't feel like a girl's car...I like them, and wouldn't mind driving one, but I guess the size makes it look like a chick's car...

Although in the commercial, we see a guy driving it, and he looks cool

Not sure if I like the Colorado gear box on it though ...and I heard the top is heard to put up/down...

I don't see why the size makes it a girly car. Take the M Roadster and the Z8, both small roadsters are extremely aggressive and powerful, yet no one would mistake them for girly cars because of their size.

I personally wouldn't mistake it for a girly car, but I think people who don't know how it performs would see it as an efeminite (sp?) car...

The Z8 wouldn't be mistaken as a girls car, just because it looks...well more masculine...
but the Z3, Z4, and the Miata all can be mistaken for girly cars by people who don't know what it is like to ride in one...Personally I'd love to own any of them

isn't the saturn sky the FR version of the MR vauxhall vx-220? just curious...

anyways, the solstice isn't better than a mazdaspeed miata, but it does have a good look to it and since most review places who have driven it say that it is pretty decent to drive...i would have to say i like it.

No, both the Sky and Solstice are built of the same platform, the new Kappa RWD platform GM created.

I am SOOO tired of the ignorant "girly car" crap spewed about any small traditional sports car, from old MGBs through Miatas and up to this. ANYONE thinking that is an idiot, period. This has nothing to do with having a different opinion, but an opinion built off of ignorance and immaturity.

There is no valid justification for it.

I love the Solstice! Personally though, I'd rather have the Saturn Sky simply because I think it looks a bit better.

Its nice I think. And as far as being a chick car, if you had a Pink Camaro, that doesnt make it a chick car. Its still a beast, and Id still take it. Might be less manly than a regular camaro, but still has all the guts. Like a guy at Mardi Gras....same man....wearing a toga
