Really? Are you sure? If and engine produces no torque, how does it provide horsepower? Remember, you made the statement, I just want an answer.

You have got to be the NEW dumbest person here on CF.

You DO realize how much the S2000 DOMINATED it's B-STOCK SCCA class right? So much so they forced it to go up a class to A-Stock. It's basically a TRACK CAR, that you can buy for use on the street. It's about as good as a true roadster sports car you can ask for, for $30k brand new. Basically for the price you pay over the Miata, you get the same package, but a little larger and with a LOT more power. A lot of horsepower (with many revs) and not that much torque has been the ideal way a lot of true sports car roadsters have been setup for many years. I guess the Lotus Elise sucks since it only has 190hp and about 120tq, nevermind the fact it weighs ALMOST half as much as a 350Z roadster. OR how about the Miata?

The roadster 350Z also weighs 3600lbs. While the S2000 weighs 2800lbs. So much for a "sports car" with the 350Z.

More like making old jokes about Hondas having no torque.

If you get rid of the twin turbo mess and install a simple single turbo setup, with good EM and tuning the car should be just fine. You don't HAVE to do a V8 swap. The REW's power capabilites and the FD's handling capabilities with the REW are excellent.

That would be true for daily driving. Give it some turns and you'll appreciate the S2000 much more.

I agree with thunderbird, not to mention that the S2000 handles circles around the 350z. What "track" are you talking about? Drag strip? Autocross? Full track? Drift Track? Horsepower and torque is not all there is to determine how well a car performs on the "track." In Autocross; a better handling S2000 will pull much better times then the heavy and torquey 350z.

The FD's handling capabilities with an LS1 is just as good, if not better. No question about power, I've never met a 350+hp reliable rotary (heck even a stock one isnt all that reliable, especially after 80k-100k miles). I HAVE however seen many 400hp,500hp even 600hp LS1's that have been driven daily for years without many hiccups. It doesnt matter what Turbo setup you run, the REW runs into many difficulties, the worst being Apex Seal issues (which I've personally come to be haunted with on my girlfriends 94 Touring). There are many more minor issues though, that really are VERY expensive to deal with...The Sequential turbo setup is far from the worst of the REW's issues.

In my dealing with the 2nd and 3rd generation RX-7's, there is nothing easier/better than just getting rid of the trouble prone rotary in favor of a V8 of equal or less weight.

Hinson makes a good case for the 2nd and 3rd gen V8 swaps...just go to their FAQ page.

Wow, I thought only ricers could be that ignorant. I have a Camaro and will be the first to say that a 350Z would give me a run for my $ on the dragstrip. I would probably beat it, but I definetely wouldn't "smoke" it. The LS1 is a GREAT engine, but it's not God's gift to gearheads.
