Probe. Love the bullet-style look of the car. Plus the flip up headlights. The GT pushes 185 I think.

I'd take the Probe, it looks better, but 185?...Sounds a bit high...closer to ~160...

I wasn't calling you stupid, I meant I was agreeing with you, that's the only smilie I know of that fits...Besides, "stupid," and "idiot," etc. Are terms of friendship, I don't really use them too much to offend people

We are talking about horsepower. Horsepower doesnt always euqal the top speed, but ive seen it happen. Also the top speed is 145 on the guage? That means its probbaly governed around 140 or a little below.

I guarendamntee you a stock Probe GT will not do 145mph.

Matter fact most people why try and top them out get to no higher than the low 130s. Also remember, nine times out of ten you're going a few mph slower than what your gauge says at those speeds.

http://www.chrono.org/performance.htm#TOP

Click top speed and scroll down to the chart, the stock ones weren't going over the low 130s, but in actuality they were probably in the high 120s.

The highest the manufacturer ever claimed for the 2nd gen GT was 134mph.

Also btw- the 2nd gen Probe GT had exactly 164hp.

The cougar design doesnt appeal to me at all. The bulging lights, higher ground clearance, and its a merc, which kinda takes away the "sporty" aspect of it for me. Im sure they are both great, but I would take the probe

The late model FWD cougar is basically a reskinned later model of the Probe. 'Nough said.

However the 5-speed Probe GT's are fun to drive...too bad they weren't made RWD.

The Probe GT is better in performance, handling and looks IMO. Also Cougars tend to have more problems.
