look at the back of a series II landy, look at the back of a 70's mini, take the lucas fittings off and you can swap them over, and even the wholes will line up perfectly.

Well, it would have been nice if you'd have written mt name in that quote so I knew it was me who said it in the first place

As for my reasoning, call it experience, something I believe you lack in?.....I know that Ford parts, especially older parts, are crap, end of story

There not all bad, there crush column is good compared tot he gm version of the same period. Steering racks are good, easy to fix. Diffs are ok, bake systems are ummmmm not the best should we say, when you buy the car make sure you put your order in for a master cylinder straight away.

One thing i will say is that if you need a ford part you can allways find it with realitve ease.

Very true....although I think in general, Ford parts leave an awfull lot to be desired!

Alot of parts and service from manufacutres do leave alot to be desired.

When you have to ring a 090 number to find out if one part is compatible with another then its a sorry state of affirs.

I think it is rediculous that manufacturers dont have places where you can acess diagrams and spec sheets of major componets for example gearbox.

If you want a good quality part its often cheaper and quicker to buy a lathe/mill and make it yourself. I guess it depends on your skill set and level.
