Air Intake Setup

Hope the caps in the title got peoples attention hehe.

Well, my corolla.. lol, the filter is screwed.. replaced it with a podfilter.. but im not sure where to now put the air tempature sensor, and i also have a vacum straw like tube thing which sucks in air which was also enclosed in the airbox which when blocks makes the car quieten like its going to stall..

I want my engine bay looking like this..

It seems his battery may be in the boot? Any suggestions to get my engine air intake similar to this.. first things worst.. need to sort out what to do with these sensors..

^vaccum straw thing.. what should i do with this? (described above )

^ Sensor thing is the plug on the left to the podfilter.. where theres a little bit of blue..

Yes, i am aware my thumb looks retarded in these photos :P i assure you.. its not noarmally like this hehe

1. Remove the "cold air intake" and re-install the original airbox. Reinstall all hoses, sensors, etc.

2. Close the hood and never open it again.

No matter where you put the "vacuum straw", it won't make up for the fact that your intake set-up is pulling hot air any time the engine is warmed up. At least the OE design is cold air some of the time. I don't know if you bought that crap or figured it out yourself, but whoever designed it desrves to be shot.

Designed it? designed the cold air intake, or just the current setup in the car.

Ah i c, well the top half of the air box has a hole in it.. hence why i took it off and decided seen i had a pod filter at home which i bought ages ago.. put that in.. just these damn sensors which got me stubd..

Anyway, will this plan work..

Relocate battery to boot, attatch a air intake pipe and push the filter up a bit.. Attatch the air tempature sensor into the air intake pipe.. Put the straw thing in the air intake pipe (Do they come with a hole to put it in or something? ) And put that Blue.. thing.. (The idle thing.. i think it is ) into the intake pipe aswell mounted flushly..

Only thing stopping me getting the air intake right now, is that black box..

What is that black box comming down from the current intake tube? (Just to the top left of the filter) Could i remove it?

Then you'll have the kewlest hot air intake in town. Guaranteed to decrease power. Good job.

Forget the pod and concentrate on real perfromance improvements. For instance, have a look at your throttle body sizing.
