Front bumper for a honda accord

Hey all...this is my second post on this site.

Definitely looks like a great site and i hope i can be a solid contributor in the future.

Now on to my problem

My car
- Honda accord 2003
- charcoal grey
-4cyl
-4dr

Heres the situation, my car was parked in a lot yesterday morning and i came back to the lot in the afternoon and found that some jerk*(( decided to hit my car and leave...he must have tried to get in the spot next to me, he dragged his car across my bumper and now theres a huge crack right down my bumper (a little below the light) the light is fine but im assuming i need a whole new bumper...any help guys?

basically im looking to know:

- avg cost of replacement? (parts and labor)
- whether it even needs to be replaced or can it just be "fixed"
- i did a search for bumpers from a site you guys provided www.rockauto.com
and it looks like the price of the bumper is around 200 but i may have searched wrong...does that sound about right?
- any other info...

thanks in advance guys...

Since the bumper is cracked, I doubt it can be fixed. I would try 2 options:

A) Call the dealership and ask them for the price of a new bumper. They will send it to you new, the color you want, and you will be able to attach it yourself.

B) Go to the junkyard. If you're extremely lucky, you can find a bumper of your color and attach it yourself. If you're not as lucky, you can find that same bumper, then have it colored to match your car.

I'm not sure which of the 2 options is cheaper, but it shouldn't be too expensive all-around. Good luck!

If you're are willing to do a bit of mods for about that $200 you could get a "body kit" type front bumper to put on off of ebay. You would have to get it paint-matched too though cuz they only come primed. But your car would look much better.

If it's not too big of a crack I would say you could apply some bondo to it and it should look good as a new after repainting that area. Bondo is pretty simple and it will save you money. If not do what nissan or flight said to do.

That sounds very high. First of all, I'd take a look at the junkyard. If that doesn't work, try sites like ebay. For example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...spagenameZWDVW

You can probably find one for no more then $200. Attached it yourself. I'm not sure how much painting it would be, but it shouldn't be drastically too much.

EDIT: Just noticed you need a front bumper and the link is the rear bumper. Still should be around somewhere.

lol you can get a front bumper from a body kit for less than $200, but it has to be paint matched cuz they only come primed. But I think there is also stock bumper covers on there too which would be less than one from a body kit. The choice is up to you, if looking for stock start at an auto wrecker but you will be lucky if you find one cuz most of the front ends there are gone
