Buying an engine?

Any suggestions on where to buy an engine?
I'm gonna buy a "new" 258 straight six for my 75 Gremlin. Schucks quoted me at $1100 through Vege (about 900 with my employee discount), I found Precision Engines online can get one for $800, I'm still waiting to find out the cost of shipping on that one.

Am I missing an important place to be looking? Google, isn't really showing me what I'm looking for.
I'm not trying to go "High Performance" or all chrome and whatnot. I just want a mutherfukin 258 reliable engine for my Beast Gremlin.

Thanks for any suggestions on what to do
Rawk on!

Really? How many car engines have you bought on eBay? Can you link us to some of them? I'm interested too.

Duh...the model engines:

Hook up a small motor to that fan, and it actually looks like it does something

Although they are pretty sweet for collecting...

I'd be too afraid to buy a whole engine off of ebay.
Something as big and potentially explosive as an engine I'd rather get from a larger company with a warranty, instead of some goober that pulled an engine out of his jeep last year, and just now decided to sell it on ebay.
