New Car

Hey all!!! My family's in the market for a car to replace our Ford Excursion. We want something made in 2002 or 2003, and it must be a six passenger SUV. My dad is 6'6" and 250, and my grandfather's one inch taller and a bit lighter, so they have to fit. We've looked at a lot of stuff and the only thing we fit in is the Toyota Sequoia. Can ya'll tell me some good stuff about this car? Or have any suggestions to some other stuff we could look at? Remember, we're not millionaires. Thanks!!

Hhhmm a couple of things come to mind when thinking about an Excursion replacer. But I need to know why your family's getting rid of the mamoth of an SUV before I can give you some resonable alternatives..

yeah, i should have mentioned, we're disposing of the excursion because we need something smaller. i'm a small person and that car has a lot of blind spots. i can't see out very well, so we need a smaller suv to replace it...i.e., one that i can easily see out of.

Take a look at this as these SUV's seem to fit your criteria (for 02-03 at least)
You can even compare them side by side to see what best sutes your needs.

Maybe you could save money and buy a booster seat

Why does it have to be an SUV?
Do you take it off road?
Do you pull 1800lb boats?

Why not a Minivan?
Fit 7 average people very comfy, and 5 or 6 large people very comfy.
An all wheel drive version is just as save in bad weather as an SUV... its lighter so it’ll stop in a shorter distance then an SUV.
Much better on gas.

Just offering up other options... you say you’ve looked at nearly everything out there...and if your asking our opinions that means you haven’t found anything you love to death... why not try something different?

I personally love the Town and Country Minivan... my dad has a 98 and he has almost 200k on the original engine and trans... And he gets like 25mpg... not bad for some thing that big... and he can easily tow cars or his two seadoo’s with it.
And with stoe and go seating… it can easily hold any cargo you might need to carry (and the cargo can be taller and still fit then if in an SUV.

Plus I think it's sexy as hell

we've tried pretty much every minivan on the road, and the only one in which my father and grandfather's heads don't hit the roof is the dodge caravan. plus, we're just not minivan kinda people.

us in a minivan would be like.....vin diesel in a taurus. it just makes no sense.
