'90 Nissan Stanza - fuel injection defunct

It ran about 5 minutes after installing a used engine. Gradually starved and nothing since. Put fuel into a spark plug hole and it fires. Swapped out the injectors in case they were clogged (car set up a long time). Tried another used computer ($35). I see no lights on the computer in either run or test position. How do I get codes from the computer? This was about the first year for electronic fuel injection on this model, I believe. My Chilton manual is limited on this year (deals mostly with carbs). Thanks.

The car manuals are a joke.

They are there result of an interpertation of the service manual.
The service manual is an interpretation of some Chinese translation of a Japanese translation of a US translation of the real thing.

I'd tear off the crapper multiport and put on a stock carb.
