u know wat the problem is?
i study 2 types of engineering and computer sciences. i even come from a long line of good lawyers. and i still disagree with the educational system.
a lot of ppl kill themselves studying all sorts of things and dont realize one important factor. when u study, its only a theory. practice in the real world is wat really teaches u the shit u need to become successful in life.
i know a lot of people here in PR that have gone to mechanical colleges and they still act like complete rookies. in fact, i myself have had to intervene many times at places like pep boys and western auto cuz of rookie krap they pull off (i have seen some that dont know how to tension drivebelts).
in fact, i was offered to take some half assed written test and a mechanical test in order to get a certification without having to spend.... i think it was 3 years studying at Automeca (mech. school here in PR).
so dont think that studying is enough, go around and do some manual labor, which is wat will really teach u the stuff that will allow u to provide good advice in different places.
PS: sorry if i dont make any sense, im in a class right now and it's getting hard to type and write about different things.
