Possible SBC Buy

Hey guys-
Im looking for some advice on buying a Small block. It is a 350 pulled from a Chevy truck, not sure of the year with about 80,000 miles. The guy is asking about 300 bucks. It is all stock except alluminum intake. I would like to act fast, so heres my questions. When I look at the block, what should I look for besides the obviuos cracks and what not? What should I ask to make sure it is worth it? What do you guys think about the price for the engine? Thanks for the help.

I don't know a whole lot, but from what I hear that is a good price for a 350 with not so high mileage. You could ask whether it's a 2 or 4 bolt main, other then that I don't really know. Hopefully you find what you need to know.

i think its a fair price.......go to and get the # off the side of the block, it sometimes can tell ya if a its a 2 or 4 bolt main.
