4 doors? 2 doors?

does gas mileage count?

sports car? family sedan? pick up?

FWD, AWD, or RWD prefference?

what kind of driving experience do you have to this point?

without knowing any of this, i'd say V6 mustang or camaro (to keep insurance down), maybe a 98-99 intrepid (if you look hard enough, maybe a 2000 R/T), stratus, or a taurus?

the reliability of cars ofcourse has to do with what happens when it's built... but it also depends on how well you take care of it... i'm sure if you put enough effort to keep it well maintained you could get any car and make it last.

hmm, of those i'd get the t-bird super coupe... or the earlier XR-7, though i cant say i know anything about their reliability.

if it's what you want, and you think you can keep it working, go for it.

Could possibly get a decent V6 Camaro Firebird or Mustang, for the Firebird's or Camaro's go with 96 or later as they had the 3.8li and for the Mustangs you might be able to find a 99-01' used in your price range. They all look decent and have good enough power as well as gas mileage and insurance won't kill you. Just a suggestion, not sure what kind of cars or brands you are biased to.

I'd go for a 99 Mustang V6.

My suggestions

Under 100k the probe gt and 1999+ cougar are something you might want to look at for sporty rides.
I would also suggest Grand Cherokee(prior to 1998) for the most part there reliable and I get 16-25 mpg depending on my driving. I have found it a very handy vehicle because you can have all your friends with you or carry a ton of stuff.
If you want a V8
I would suggest 1990-97 Cougar or tbird as well.
Aslo look at crown vics (the police package ones are a good price and some time you can find one with low mileage)

There have been eight generations of Civics built over the last 30+ years. Two doors, three doors, four doors, five doors, coupes, sedans, hatchbacks, station wagons, DX's, LX's, EX's, CRX's, 2WD, 4WD, with engines from 1.2L up to 2.0L, and other variations I'm sure to have missed. Acura Legend... ( dont know what year they were made till) I think like a 94 Legend with under 100k miles should be in ur price range... Very reliable cars, Sporty, but still luxrious, and i am pretty sure they get more than 20mpg... they come in 2dr and 4dr so u could pick which one u like.
They are hard to find though, i am not gonna say there are rare cars but they are harder to find than most of the cars.
