okay, then your better off with 12" subs or bigger

just thought i'd ask before i started naming components

secondly. the 13jlw7 will own your budget...that sub alone is damn near a grand canadian.

i can get one for around 700. the head is like 550 so iunno.. i really like the head. but as for jl, i know that you pay alot for the name. so what would you suggest? something with alot of watts that really hits hard, something that you REALLY feel or hear from a block or away.

Okay you need to trim some fat...

Looks like you're looking for SPL, get some cheaper 15's. The 13w7 is a 13.5" woofer that is built heavily towards SQ, not SPL as much. Plus the cost of it is insane (something around $550-$600). Check out Orion H2's (sounddomain should have a great deal on them)...they are VERY power hungry (requiring 1500-2500rms A PIECE) but are considered some of the loudest subs you can get.

Second to drive those H2's I'd get this amp...
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2721

Third, dont get that HU. The new Alpine HU's are very disappointing...you have to buy the top end model (over a grand) JUST to get 4 volt pre-outs (everything else has 2 volt pre-outs). For that price range you can get...

http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3821
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2108
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/4075

All are top notch HU's. I've used the CQ-C9701U and it's wonderful.

Dude...the H2's on sounddomain are 700$ USD EACH. Not to even start on the 900$ USD amplifer....

Personally...

A pair of Pioneer Premier subs (119.00 each)

http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3107

Powered by: (449.00)

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16370

(Since I'm stupid with wiring, thunderbird would have to confirm that the amp would work with the subs)

Speakers...assuming you have 5 1/4" in the front and 4x6 in the back.

Price is about 1065$ before shipping(CAD conversion done)

Leaves you room for installation costs, and money left over

Diamond Audio D351 (149.00)
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=15032

and

Infinity Kappa 462.7cfp (98.00)
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=15371

very good, the only reason i went with the alpine is because i find alpine is well known and id like to go with well known makes... tahts orion h2 looks sick. but would i need 2 or would 1 15'' h2 be good enough? the speakers dodger suggested are great too.. the only things i dont know about are the amps and head now.

the decks tbird posted are awesome. take the pioneer if you aren't too sure, i would highly recommend that one.

as for an amp, basically anything that will throw the power you need at the subs. just don't go to cheap on the amp...that could end up hurting.

Ive heard the Pioneer Premiers and they are very disappointing, even for their price, My 12" volf was louder and cheaper than the Premier.

http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/1865

If your into bass, then your probably going to want the lows, so i would say nothing less than about 2 10"s or 1 15", how about the new 15 from eD.

http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=2&cur=USD

And for amps i've heard that Viper, Orion are awesome, Hifonics are ok, and i think i might buy a Directed Audio.

But if you really wanna go HIGH end, check out a RE XXX, or a MT, those are monsters though.

BTW: edit: while we're all here and talking about it, is Directed Audio good? i was thinking about Directed Audio to power the 15" RE SX, i was looking at this one, i figured that 1000-1500 would be good, and this thing is 1200. If not this thing any other good amps for a good price? Or the 12.1, just to have a matching setup, is there a big difference between the two, cuz theres a huge waiting list on the 12.1's i hear.

I guess sounddomain stopped their sale on the H2, they had the 15" version for only $279! YEah, I just checked, they dont have the 50%+ off sale on Orion products anymore, damn, I was hoping to pick up an H2 for fun. It was an excellent sale.

I dont recommend those subs, they aren't that great, plus he ha s afat budget, he can afford better subs like these...

http://www.edesignaudio.com/product....pid=21&cur=USD X 2

Paired with this beast...
http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=4&pid=6&cur=USD

If he gets those he gets 15% off the total price.

As for components, if you want something cheaper look at these...
http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=29&cur=USD

Powered by this...
http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=24&cur=USD

That would be a killer setup. Get the dual 4ohm subs and wire it to 1 ohm load and the amp will give it a strong 1400-1500rms. Will really pound and sound excellent.

The new Alpine decks are very disappointing, like I said you have to buy the very top of the line HU just to get 4 volt pre-outs. Very overpriced. The Premier, Clarion and Panasonic decks I posted are worlds better.

Directed (DEI) makes all the amps for Orion and Viper. Their amps are built almost the same as the Viper and Orion.

The Directed line (which is the cheapest of the three) isn't built up as good as the Viper or Orion amps that are its cousins but they are still very good.

Directed<Viper<Orion

I find the older Directed amps are better than the newer ones. Ikesound sells plenty of the older ones.

To show my point these are all the same basic amp...

Directed - http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2452
Viper - http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2426
Orion - http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2286

Same specs and all, but the Viper and Orion versions are built beefier. Hence why they cost more.

It's like this in the most simple terms...

Directed = Scion
Viper = Toyota
Orion = Lexus

MAde by the same main company, but there are different "classes".
