come on!

come on you guys. you are all living in the present are you not? why not grab an oldskool body rip out the fuel guzzling engine and replace it with a small literige straight six with fuel injection, and thennnnnnnnnnn...........change the interior to your style. this way you have the best of both worlds. wont cost as much as you guys might think. if you save up you will get it.

Well I'll be getting my hands on one of these in 8 months.

2000 Toyota Camry LE slow 4 cylinder 5 speed. It's a hand-me-down from my godfather (he's lookin' to get a BMW). It will be my daily driver. Since Gina will no longer be my only means of transportation, I'm thinking maybe ... BOOST. We'll see. First I'd like to finish the suspension and brake upgrade I have planned.

OR

Sell both and try to get me one of these...

Right now I'm not sure what I want to do ?

I couldn't agree with you more. The only thing is I couldn't imagine having to part away with my Gina. That and I don't like starting something and not seeing it finish through. I have to finish everything I start. This makes my decision so much harder.

Man, I didn't even know Brabus got their hands dirty with the Smart. The thing's got to be awesome. Have any specs handy?

Believe me, it's not as the name would suggest, lol. I think there was talk of sticking a V6 in it......either they realised it wouldn't fit......or they disregarded the idea due to cost, lol, either way, that sort of power through the rear wheels of such a light car would be deadly

Instead Mercedes put the slightly tamer 700cc engine in it, same engine in the standard car, just tuned slightly. 74bhp rather than 60bhp I believe, 0-62mph in around 12-seconds, and all for about £13,000.....

I'll wait until after the new garage is up and finished (and the 600sq.ft. master bedrom suite above it), but then I'll start looking in earnest. Right now I have my sights set on one of 4 cars:

'75-77 Jaguar XJ6C (the 2 door coupe)
'77-up BMW 6 series
'92-94 BMW M5
'97-99 BMW 740i (not the long wheelbase one)

The first two would have to be built up to be what I want out of them, so they are probably out of the running. The last two will depend on how old the bank would finance.

But who knows, things could go well and I might buy a new car (though I'd rather not spend that sort of jing), or something completely oddball might catch my fancy (like, say, a '61 Falcon wagon hot rod).

What's funny is that, three months after I posted this, I brought home a '61 falcon 4 door as a custom project. I'm still driving the Fiat, but within the year, I'll be driving the Falcon, too...

That's how realistic a prediction can be.

Hmmm, turns out its all look and hardly any go... Too bad, I was hoping it'd be something more like what Brabus did to the new CLS Coupe. That would have tickled my fancy.
