Ford f150 1984 v8 4 barl ignition problem

I have a F150 w/ 77k miles orig. and it is intermittent in starting. Sometimes it starts immediately and other time it refuses. Currently it has been sitting in the same spot and refuses to start. I want to sell it but not with it not starting so--- I pulled the #1 sparkplug and grounded the case on the engine and had the wife turn the key. I got 1 spark and only one. Next I pulled the coil wire and put a plug in it and grounded it. Again just 1 short spark- no more. (By the way I can repeat this however I only get 1 spark per try) This is an electronic ignition but where are the electronics. Is this the type of thing that needs replaced? Help what do I do next?

Hi, have a look at the control module ,mounted on the drivers side fender well ,its about a 5" square alum. box with two wireing connectors comeing out of it on the same side. take a look at the color of the plastic where the wires come out of it, So when you go to get another one they will ask what color it is , good luck Slimone
