getting a new car

Well I did it… I’m getting my self another new car… its something I’ve wanted since I was 14 (when my dad sold his).

It’s an 84 Dodge Rampage. With the 2.2L and a 4 speed manual.

Now I wont be able to pick it up for nearly 3 or 4 weeks (which sucks!), but the first order of business will be prepping it for paint and getting her re-sprayed… this time yellow with a black bee strip on tail (like the old mopars). Then redoing the interior black with yellow accents. Then finally get a rebuilt 2.2 T1 motor and manual trans from an 84 Dodge Daytona.

I’m also getting a parts car, a Plymouth Scamp… it sucks because the scamp is even harder to find but the rust and time have taken their toll… so I’ll take the interior (which is quite nice), and put it in the Rampage.

That’s the Rampage

That’s the Scamp

That’s the Scamp’s interior… nice leather…anyone know if leather can be died?

Theres my idea for it so far… cant seem to get the Bee strip on the back right… that and I don’t know how I’m doing the spoiler yet.

That's awesome man, too bad you got to wait so long though. Sounds like a good project. Good luck with it, keep us updated when you finally get them and start it.

Btw, how much is it costing? (if you don't mind).

Definitely a sweet project ...She looks like she's in pretty good condition for an '84. Don't see them around here too often...Can't wait to see what happens

Only 700 bucks!
I cant believe it, its such a great deal!

I know most people are gonna say damn what an ugly car… but ive always liked them, plus like the Fiero its an orphan (car produced for less then 4 years).

Also its very 80’s in styling… and for less then 5k (what hope to get for the Fiero) Ill have it done.

Damn that's a great deal, especially considering the conditon PLUS the parts car/truck. Personally I don't mind them (I like all the car/truck vehicles). Haven't seen many of those really in person, which makes it even more of a good deal (as it is something different).

The Big 3 all had a style like it, Ford first with the Ranchero in the mid to late 50's, GM next with the ElCamino in 59' I think it was (and the Sprint/Caballero, plus an Aussy version), and then Dodge/Chrylser in the 80's with the Rampage/Scamp (I think thats how it goes).

Well, I was going to prove you wrong, but I found other ones for more than $750. So I guess I have to apologize.

Still seems weird to me though, a 22 year old dodge, not exactly in great shape. I mean, you can get a 22 year old BMW for not much more than that. I don't understand...

Its because they only made the cruck (a truck on a cars frame) for all of 3 years... and something like less then 10k were actually made. So its a collecters item where as bmw made a lot of cars 22 years ago and probably made a lot of them.

But this one only has a little rust on the floor pans, which ill remove and put in new floor pans, probably take me 5 hours. Ill have it resprayed that yellow you see... and even if I wanted to sell it could for at least 1100.
