I just found a 95' LT1 Firebird, 6 spd with 98,000 Miles for $2850....needs tired.

Exactly, that is the "12k I'm smoking". As far as the Monte goes, my mom had about a 1985 black one, and I think it came with the 305 (I was like 10 when she sold it, so I'm not 100%). The thing was pretty large, I'll assume that it was heavier then a Camaro of the same era. Personally I don't see it as much of a sleeper, but that's just my take. They are very nice cars, especially in black. You could definetely get a nice one for under $8,000.

yeah that what i want.. a black monte with black rims with a chrome lip... nice sound system and a nice exhaust system so it sounds good. it would be my first car so i dont need any engline mods.. for about a week lol

Well if you change your mind, there's a 1990 Nissan 240SX for sale in Mississuaga, Ontario for $2000 as is or $2500 cert/e-test. Has 198,000KMs on it (auto trans)...
