Your car has a transaxle, but not a transmission. A transaxle is a transmission with a differential built into it, its used mainly for FWD cars. Transmissions are mainly used for RWD.

Wow, she doesn't sound too bad. I've always liked that style truck, that's why it's alittle sad looking in my driveway sometimes and seeing mine lol. Nice work.

Yeah, the 305 was pretty popular in stock options. Most people swapted them for the 350, my friends have been trying to get me to do this. Problem is i dont have the cash right now, my engine is running fine, and im getting 15-17mpg on the highway (they sure arent). Besides the 305 and 350 are the same block, just different heads and stroke. Also, my truck will never be quick unless i replace the tranie, 3spd manual and it just dogs out in third.

I think you should keep this engine,
more original,
but im having trouble finding parts for this block, as im still not sure
if its a pontiac block or a small block chevy, apparently theyre way different
for bolting parts onto

should be a chevy. is the oil fill hole on the valve cover or does it stick up through the front of the manifold? if its a chevy, just buy parts for a 350 as they are the same. if its a BOP engine, throw it away, and put a SBC in it or an old pontaic 455
