Damn. Allright then...a long distance drag race.

We will both go to the track, (1/4 mile) and post up time slips and have them both corrected for sea level.

Winner gets...

Maryland. And I don't do tracks, I have some OK goodyear Tires that came with the car, and it is mostly stock. You should take me down easily. Try me back again in prolly 5 months then it'll be a race.

Plans are as follows
  • Talk to some people, see how much weight I can possibly save, taking rear seats out, and carpoet and all that junk out of the rear, spare wheel, as well as any other misc. parts
  • ----Hopefully save around 200 pounds at least
  • 3.55 or around there rear end gears
  • Shift Kit
  • Trans Cooler
  • Intake Manifold

    One of these two things
  • 1.Either new 306 block or bore my current one out to a 306 and get some nice pistons and rods maade to handle at least 400rwhp
  • 2.Possibly supercharger off an old 3.8li T-Bird(6psi or so) , and yes it will work, others have done it, just a matter of finding the parts and the people to help you do it. Slap it on my stock block, if I have a low enough PSI it should be able to handle it for quite awhile.
---And of course all the other misc. parts needed to make the supercharger work to its full efficiency if that is the route I take.
  • Exhaust of course and a nice dyno tune

This will all be done within due time, of course much of it depends on moeny so who knwos in 5 months I may only be through the smalll things such as exhaust intake manifold rear end gears and shift kit as well as weight reduction, all depends on money.

Well wouldn't you like to have some good baseline numbers to compare to later?

I'd love to participate, but I'm afraid a coupla of high-reving quarter miles might do my poor little engine in

Not really, I don't plan on going to the track too much with my car until it is later on in it's lifeline, like when it has something like a T-56 Viper 6-speed tranny swap, and doing the quartermile would be fun. With an auto I'd have to just hold down the brake and rev it then let off the brake, along with like I said, it's bone stock. I'm not interested in times right now. What I wouldn't mind was after checking my compression ratio spending 75$ to see my starting point in performance numbers as HP and Torque, then see how far I have come after the mods I perform.

But seeing as how the track never really attracted me like it has some of my friends liek I said I don't care about it. Just as well my car being an automatic and the way I would have to do it would be dumb in itself. It is a stock automatic.

If you REALLLY want to race though I guess I could use my friends 98' Cobra Convertible to even it up until my car is where I want it to be.
