e-brake

hey, i've been trying to do quick turns with my 94 civic, and i just can't get my e-brake to do what i want. its like i don't lose traction in the back tires, so it just sort of slows me down when i use it. is it cause a civic is a ff car, and just can't do it, or am i doing something wrong? do i need to install something or something? a little help would be much appreciated. oh another stupid question, i don't **** up the e-brake by doing this do i? cause if it does cause damage i'd like to know before i cause any further. know what i mean.

sorry if this has already been posted, but i can't find it.
