Went to the road course, 56k= teh ghey
Went to an open track day yesterday and thought I would post up some pics for you guys.
Of course, the obligatory z06 was there:

He was the fastest car in the mid street class (my class)
The mini was upgraded with the john works package....very fast.
Here are a few spec'd out cars that were in the race group:
3 spec miatas and a spec integra.
Most of the cars in my class:
The specV was stock...but driven by a 6 year autocross veteran. I had a terrible time trying to pass him and when I did I couldnt shake him for the life of me. You can also see a white s14, a red s14 with a redtop sr20, an MR2 with a shitload of work done, and a white STi. It was debaged, he took off the spoiler and pt on a stock WRX hood...So whe he was riding my ass at first I couldn't figure out why this damn WRX was so fast, until he popped his hood after the 2nd session.
Here is a pic of my car from the rear with my friend Ians 944 turbo.
German powah!

And then there was this drift spec s13:
320 rwhp and 350 rwtq
The driver qualified and raced in d1, but he couldnt get a licesnse for formual drift. He was very good I love to watch the DORIFTO!
Unfortunately on turn 6, the hairpin, he lost it and put himself into a tire wall:
All in all it was a great day running in the banged up M. On my last session though I was losing power...It felt almost like my traction control was on. I would hit the gas and my rpms would go up a bit with out any power and then stall there for a sec then I would get power again.
It could be one of three things:
When I was in the starting grid for that session I noticed my gas light was on...it said I had 30 miles left...and then it suddenly said I had 24 miles left. So I was running out of gas. I might have just not been pumpin enough fuel on the top end which would cause the stall in the top end. But Then it wouldn't make sense why my rpms would slip up a bit, so it might be that my clutch was hot as shit and slipping. Or it could also possibly be that my ECU was reading lifter tick and cutting power to try to keep the engine safe.
My lifter tick was bad when I pulled off the track, I even had put in an extra quart to try and compensate, but no dice.
Well whatever happened I had to pull off the track in the midddle of the session. No more racing for the M that day. Oh well, I had great times otherwise.
hope you enjoyed the piktarz.

Dude I'm so jealous!!! I can't wait till my car's ready for a road course. I hope I can do everything I need to do before this summer's over (racing oil pan, full coilovers, rear lower contorl arms [one of them's messed up], strut tower bars, and rear disc brake swap). My car right now wouldn't last a lap on a road course .

We werent timing, and there werent even places given out (like 1st place second place, etc) it was just a fun run. On the same course though with timing equipment my best time was a 1min 48sec, and that was with two shallow chicanes and one DEEP chicane on the backstreet that slwed me down a shitload. I have a feeling if there was timing eqyuipment I would have hit around 1:39-1:40.

To race...or atleast drive 'round a few times!....he has a Civic (1.6litre V-Tec)...nothing overly special, but more so than my Sunny hehe. I'll have to buy a Digital Camera before then though!
