OO I call number one post!

To reduce lag so you get power quicker, and still a good bit of power in the higher RPM

Which automobile offered the largest engine in 1908, the Hupmobile or Model-T Ford?

Hey guys-
I am just wanting to comment on the Inline 8 question. I know there a few cars to ever carry the inline 8 but one that I have seen in person myself was (and please dont quote me) a mid 1930's Mercedes-Benz 380K. Although I didnt get a good look, well actually I wasnt really looking to see if it has valve covers, I do recall there being what seemed to be a valve cover? Maybe some one can find a pick just for my persanol info....

Kinda hard to tell what's going on, but here's a picture of a 500K (Still a straight 8 engine)

BTW Hamann Motorsport is a German company that makes performance parts, and also modifies cars (It's to BMW what Brabus is to Mercedes).

Wait, wait, wait, oh ye of little knowledge. If straight eights don't have valve covers, tell me what these are;

The answers. Top, a 1940 Buick Roadmaster straight 8, OHV engine. Notice the valve cover. Bottom, a 1933 Bugatti Type 59 straight 8, DOHC engine. It not only has A valve cover, it has two. Next time you decide to have a contest to show how much you know about cars, make sure you know enough about cars to do so.

I bet you feel pretty stupid right about now.

Don't get cocky. They don't all have valve covers.
