Electronic parking device

To day I have the following problem. When I put the car in reverse normally the parking device lets out a tone when there's an object in the way,and a continous tone when the car is only 35 cm from the object. Now when put in reverse it lets out the continuous tone all the time. Could this be caused by a short circuit? Any input welcome Paul

There are lots of little kids on this forum. Have you tried cleaning the sensor? I've seen road dirt collect and cause this sort of problem.

The noise was driving me crazy so I went to the garage and they simply plugged in a cable connected to some sort of laptop computer and ran a program. Then they did something to the car computer program and the problem was solved.I guess nowadays you need a computer specialist instead of a mechanic. The small 20 minutes intervention cost me 50 $.Paul
