Question 700r4

my 700r4 won't shift out of second. can it be fixed?

No. Anytime a 700R4 stops shifting out of second gear., the entire transmission has to be replaced. As a matter of fact, GM has a TSB stating that on some of their vehicles when the transmission stops shifting the entire car has to be scrapped and replaced with a new model, preferably with one financed at a high interest rate.

mine wouldnt take the heat like my turbo 350s!!! dont they have electronics?

Because that would require admitting that he's responsible for his inability to ask a question while supplying enough information for us to develop a reasonable response. And because he probably just found the "D".

yes its a 4 spd overdrive transmission that gm used in camaros, corvettes, and even some 1/2 ton trucks from the early 80s to early-mid 90s. they are notoius for going bad, especially if you put to much power to them.

won't shift out of second or into second? which gear is it stuck in? if second, how long does it hold first?
