Dodge Ram with 1,000,000 miles

Check out this link.
http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/03/c...ile-dodge-ram/
Copy and paste it onto your browser--for some reason it's not linking. This one guy has a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 with ONE MILLION MILES on it. The one and only other car that EVER made a million miles was an '85 Toyota.
Now that's what I call a tough badass truck.

I heard that somewhere too....was it an old 60's thing? I'm sure I remember something about it though!

As for this Truck, I'm actually suprised to see an Odometre with spaces for seven digits, I've only ever seen them with 5 or 6 spaces!.....I mean, whty put on an extra digit as most cars wont reach 999,000miles let alone 1,000,000miles!...which makes me wonder about how genuine the link is

Might not even be a real Dodge Speedo......it's definitely a photochop.

As for a Diesel pushing a million clicks? That's not a big deal. I've been in trucks with 600k + that are only 6-7 years old. Ever been in a semi-rig that has over 2000k? I have...

Hell, I've seen Dodge gas vehicles pushing 400k...

I know a guy with a '98 Dakota with 503k miles on it. The heads have never been off.

I was just wondering because obviously its possible to view 1 million miles on some cars, but how do you know how many miles a car has if it rolls over at 100,000? Or am I mistaken and all cars show over 100,000 before rolling over.

You mean 1,000,000 Our Mustangs, at least from 1987-1993 only had up to 100k, after those years they would og up to 999,999,999. So for our cars it is hard to tell how many miles are on it.

Most older cars have 5 digits.

Probably some newer cars out there with only 5 digits

You mean 999,999? otherwise it would be back to the old million mile odo's again lol. I've never seen a car with a 7 digit odometre, I'm guessing that the newer, digital ones can display that many though.....?

As for Lorries/Rigs etc, I've no doubt that they will do in excess of 1,000,000miles! Also, I think lots of older Fords only had 5 digit readings, I personally hate this setup as I like to see a cars true mileage, as most cars will go way over the 100,000mile mark!

Wehave a 1.6litre Focus at work with 201,000miles on the clock and that does 250miles per day, infact, over the easter weekend I averaged 300miles a day lol. It hasn't always done that many miles a day though (it's a 2001 model).

hobo, that was the Volvo(s) I was thinking of, I'm shocked that there's more than one though
