New Trend?

I was flipping through Road & Track magazine (April...I hadn't gotten to reading it yet) and saw a lot of high powered Japanese cars, like the Lexus GT 450/GT 500 (4.5 or 5.0L) and the IS 500 with a 5L engine, the Supra coupe with a 5 Litre engine, the NSX is comming back with either a 4.5 or 5 litre engine. I think there was a couple more, but can't remember. Am I extremely mistaken, or are they making more big-engined cars than ever?...At the same time that the rest of the world is jumping off buildings due to high gas prices. They all look really nice though...

BTW They also got the guy that made Gran Turismo to make a model of the new Skyline to play on GT, and they were really impressed...It got a virtual 1:40 lap on Laguna Seca too lol

I agree, it looks like manufacturers are going with larger engined cars alot these days, sometimes though, there's not alot of difference in consumption figures, so putting a larger engine in their cars could/should make more sense!

X2- my auto 5.7 usually gets 17-18 mpg city, and most people get over 20 city, many over 30 hwy. Not many 4bangers w/ 300+ horses are getting much better mpg, and they're probably lighter than my car.
