After the car, then what?

Once I get my car (if I ever do lol), what should the first performance part I get for it be? I heard from another guy that a new muffler would be one of the best upgrades for the money, but I don't know.

Thanks for the help!

I am thinking of an Acura Integra or Mitsubishi Eclipse or other similar car (a 4 cylinder car from Japan with good gas mileage and some speed). And I wouldn't want to spend thousands for the first upgrade.

Uh oh. A 4 cylinder, that gets good gas mileage, want it to go fast, but for a cheap cost?

What kind of upgrades are we talking about here? Are you going to be doing driveway upgrades or are you bringing it into a shop?

Fast and cheap don't go in the same sentence.

Not necissarily true: Nitrous.

But fast, cheap, and reliable however...

in my opinion a muffler isnt "performance". it doesnt add hp or make your car better. but an exhaust system will. also id go with a cold air intake. and you can add up to 30 hp to a car by removing the CAT.but i warn you it is illegal in most states.

more flow more go!

Do you have any proof a catless car can add up to 30hp?

Umm... yeah. High flow mufflers do add hp. Remember:

Also, 30 hp seems a little far fetched for going catless, but I could be wrong.

I'm not going to be spending thousands of dollars on performance parts for my car, so I'm wondering what upgrades would be the best for the least money (I realize it will still cost a lot, but I don't want to buy expensive stuff that does almost nothing). And I don't really need to have a very fast car; just one that is faster than a good number of other ones. And just wondering, what is the approximate top speed of a stock 1994 Acura Integra LS (automatic overdrive as well as 5 speed manual)?

y would u need to know top speed? it's not like exhaust CAI Headers and all that stuff will increase top speed. I think for an auto the top speed might be around 110 ( governed) and i dont know for manual.

Greek, that all depends on what exactly you are referring to.
