first off when you buy a new car you should all ways change the oil, or at least pay somone to change it if you don know how. all so id check the tire tread and air pressure. but befor i buy a used car i go get it checked out by an auto mecanic first b4 i buy it. you might wanna go do that to make shure that theres nothing seriously wrong with it, if there is id just turn around and sell it.

ok here are the basics

Congrats and good luck with your new car.

here is a list for your reference:

change the engine oil
check the transmission fluid
anti freeze level
change the air filter
change the sparkplugs or have a new tune up ( which would include air filter and spark plugs)
check the brake fluids
check on the tire pressure
make sure your spare tire is in good shape and properly inflated
check to see your jack is available as well.
change the fuel filter if the previous owner never did.

Ok these are not all necessary immediatly, but the the fluids and oils yes, you should take care of asap.

Maintaining your car will save you lots of money and save you on fuel costs. A clean air filter will increase your mileage per gallon by up to 5% believe it or not

Good luck.

good post, no ads

I of course had it checked by a mechanic(my moms friend)
i have so far added oil, i have to get it changed later with a tune up
I have checked the other liquids
It has a brand new air filter
I have no idea where the spark plugs are
it has power brakes and they seem to work too well but i have no idea how to mess with them
i have good air pressure but i need to replace the tire soon b/c the tread is worn down
i have a spare tire, a jack, a tire iron, two screwdrivers, a hammer, a flashlight, a hubcap offer dilly, some jumper cables and a multi tool in my trunk(just in case) there is also a first aid kit in the glove box
where is the fuel filter?
