You didn't really specify what type of cars you like - Domestic, Import, small displacement, big displacement, coupe, sedan, etc.

If you don't know what you are looking for how are we supposed to know what you want?

I would suggest digging through some old junk yards and see if you can come across an older car since most of the cars will have a solid body if they spent their whole life in AZ. You might be able to find an old muscle car with a big ol' V8 in it for just a couple grand and it won't take much more work to get it back in running condition. V8's are easy to make power with - No replacement for displacement.

beyond that, what do you deem as "fast"?..

I mean hell, some people could define a YUGO as being fast, okay, maybe I'm stretching it there, but fast can mean different things to different people.

buy a lada, theres a port at Felixstowe (UK) where the Customs are (or where last time i checked) were selling the good ol ladas for under £100
look around, find a dirt cheap car and modify it
my mate bought one, with the money he had left, he put in a stage 3 turbocharged Vauxhall V6
generating 360bhp

Probably not, lol...I'd imagine you'd find a few in North America though, as that's where lots of old euro cars are found, lol
