I have a place in my heart for the 94 and under Eclipses, but the 95-99s are quicker and usually preferred by most people. 1997 is statistically the worst year for maintenance shit (crankwalk), but any 95-99 would be fine. They're damn quick too.

If you're looking for performance, the older Eclipses are the way to go. Stock they aren't anything special, but with some mods those DSMs can get pretty quick. If you plan on modding the car at any point, definitely go with the old ones. If you plan to keep it stock I see no reason to buy an older one.

They are quick stock. Especially when compared to the 00-05's
