racing air intake vs cold air intake

i want to change the air intake on my 95 SOHC neon from stock to something less constricting

I've been looking at parts on E-bay and noticed that there's two types of air intakes, racing air intakes and cold air intakes with a significant price difference but i don't know if there is a significant difference in performance if any

could someone please explain to me the difference between these two intakes.

Thanks a bunch
