is the tuner age on a death kneel???

there was once a time when people could just buy a normal, ordinary little car and tune it to their hearts desire (early 90s Jetta, bubbleback Civic, etc. come to mind). these cars were real street racers, built by real, ordinary people, not like the exagerrated, knockem dead cars in the Fast and Furious trilogy. The fact that these cars had iron engine blocks and relativley simple mechanicals (at least compared to todays juggernauts lol) helped them to become legends, true racers for the streets.
Sadly, though, this age i feel is nearing its end. As more and more manufacurers try to outdo eachother, the advent of more natural aspiration (less turbos), aluminum engine blocks which r already bored out to the max, and more advanced, though more deterring ECU systems, the age of the tuner car is fading fast, just as the muscle cars did in the dark days of '73.
I love modern cars. but the trend is now changing. people seem more concerned with bling, and big rims that wiegh 80 lbs each to care about nice, easy engine and turbo tuning.
probably today the best modern "tuners" r the Evo, Sti, SRT-4 and R32. these cars r more incredible than their predecessors, and they will help to define an era in car legend.
why? they just may be the very last of their kind

"Tuners" are always going to be around, just in different ways. Just how Muscle Cars did not die out entirely, in fact, they have gotten a lot of attention lately and are going to keep getting attention in the future just because the fact that it was a certain era where they didn't care about gas prices and they made the biggest engines they could and those cars aren't being reproduced. I guarantee bling shit will fade away, but it's going to be around always and just in the next trends shadow.

EDIT: I'm sure just about anything can be cool and trendy, its just how they portray it. If they made a Fast and Furious with riced out go-karts and little whores running around, next week every kid would have a go-kart.

I agree. Today's performance tuners straight out of the factory are more than enough for me. If I got my hands on an R32, STi, Type R or even Si...I most surely wouldn't need any more power/performance out of it.

I'm still trying to figure out what a "death kneel" is. It sounds like something you do before Zod, then he chops your head off.

OmegaV12, you need some friends. The world isn't ending, robots aren't taking over, and tuners aren't fading away. Are you depressed? Everything you say is negative and exaggerated. You're worst than the press.

I'm pretty sure you think:
-Gays and lesbians are taking over the world.
-Marriage life is doomed.
-A comet is going to hit the Earth soon.
-Terrorist are going to strike America.
-We're going to run out of oil next year.
-Global warming will end the world....soon.
-Y2k
-Things predicted by Nostradamus.

Gays and lesbians are not taking over America. Are you gay? Lesbian? Their just getting bolder and receiving more attention. Only like 2% of people are openly gay.

Marriage life isn't doomed unless you and your significant other choose it to be doomed. This is something you can control.

Terrorist aren't as significant as you've been fooled to believe.

I'm talking about the massive Y2k meltdown, not the year.
