PT Cruiser Headlamps

It seems that the gasket on my 2001 PT Cruiser have broken down and now the lens are all fogged up. I went to my dealer and bought the gaskets, hoping that it would be easy to replace. For the life of me, I can not figure out how to take the lens off to replace the gasket.
Thanks for the help

There should be a 6" square access panel ahead of the front wheels in the weelwell. Remove that and you should have access to the headlight mountings.

The assembly, however, is a one piece unit, and I'm suprised you could get the "gasket" separate.

DC did have a TSB issued on this in August 2005, where they indicated some moisture is normal inside the headlamp unit and will appear as a cloudy or foggy condition inside the assembly. The moisture can be removed by activating the headlamps on high beam for 15 minutes. If water droplets larger than 1mm in size have accumulated on the inside of the headlamp lens, the headlamp assembly should be replaced.

To get the lense apart from the housing you need to bake it, put it in the oven for about 10 minutes at around 200 degrees, this will loosen the clauking that's holding the lense to the houseing, put in the gasket reseal and you're done. I know the baking sounds crazy, but that's how you get it apart, hope it works out.
