Transmission problems

Sorry again for posting so many threads at once, im just in need of knowlege. On my 67 Camaro the shifter is on the steering colum, and when say i put it into drive it goes in reverse and reverse may be park and so on, how do i fix this?

Initial thought is that your linkage is not aligned properly. The gauge on the column is attached to the drive select lever. There are a couple more components before your lever is actually connected to the transmission. By adjusting these components you can get the transmission gear to correspond with the gauge on your column.

I am not familiar with your vehicles exact set up so I don't have specific instructions for doing this. Do some web searching or pick up a repair manual (if you don't already have one) and you should find some more information.
