Generally...Manual. Not saying I'm too(any) good with it, but it's funner and more involving--excepts for up steep hills and stop and go traffic lol.

This has been discussed on numerous occasions, usually with somebody saying "I like manual transmission because it gives me more control...." and then ChrisV will say "you ignorant moron, teh auto is just as good for control....look at my RX-7". Or atleast that's what usually happens anyway, lol.

I personally prefer manuals as they offer the driver much more control, lol.... . Nah, in all seriousness though, manual for me every time as it's what I'm used to. I also prefer to shift gear at a stage that's comfortable to be, and the driving mood that I'm in. I will probably prefer an automatic some day though, when all I want to do is put my foot down and go. I also could have done with an auto when I was battling with London traffic on a daily basis when I was a salesman.

I like to drive manuals a lot more, it's a lot more fun and satisfiying to shift and do what I do and see how quick you can get to shiftin. Automatics can be nice but IMO they aren't satisfiying enough.

As long as the transmission gets me where I'm going with a reasonable amount of comfort and haste, it doesn't matter to me whether I have to select the gears or it does it for me.

I prefer stick shift, because I can drop a gear, and be in high RPM, without giving the car WOT. Also, I like the fact that none of my family can borrow my car, because they cant drive it.

See now THAT'S a logical, definitive reason.

Much better than the typical, "look at me, I shifted. Oh, look, I did it AGAIN! This I how I keep driving interesting!" that typically passes for "informed responses" around here, where people forget to actually think before responding.

I like driving stick shifts more. I don't even mind stop and go traffic anymore, I'm used to it now. It used to bother me a lot more.

It only really bothered me in stop/go traffic if my car at the time had a heavy clutch. Actually, all the time I was driving for a living, around London, my car had quite a heavy cutch....not nice.
