help with a ford pos exaust

i got a 1994 ford tempo and it keeps falling apart the catalitic convertor just fell off and im just running a straight pipe from where the convertor was just so the valves wont take a dump on me any info on quieting it down under 50 bucks would be great

P.S im thinkin about putting a glass pack on it any pros or cons on this method would be great
