Exclamation New Rule...?

I think we should have a rule that states that you need a minimum number of posts before you can try to sell something. This could be a way of weeding out people like this who only come here once to try and sell something. I think 50-100 posts sounds resonable. What does everyone else think?

Even 20 posts would be good, but isn't that how it is now? There's no way for the forums to automatically delete ads, a mod has to come and do it...

What would that achieve though? They could spam the forums that are not locked.

Chris has a point. We need another mod around here. Actually, we could use a few.

Yes, but it's been suggested on numerous occassions, and the same points are made evry time. The main point bein that It's an impossiblily with no active admin.

As for this rule. I'll happily add it, but no n00bs will pay attention, instead we'll end up deleting more threads. It also depends what you mean of course, for example that link you suplied wont work because I deleted the thread, but only because it was advertising/spam, completely different to a genuine member wishing to sell their car. So that comes under the standard rules. Members like that aren't going to just disappear, and we wont gain any other loyal members by doing it, instead we'll just be refusing entry to a few of them, lol. As for locking the forum to n00bs...Yes it can be done, by way of their first ten or so posts having to be approved by Moderator before they are allowed to post openly. This is a great way of filtering spam from CF, but another impossibility due to our lack of an admin.

CF has so much potential, it's just having access to it that's the problem here!
