Most 0-60 times are not accurate.

0-60 doesn't really tell you much anyways. It's one of those consumer statistics that really means nothing.

Except for telling you how fast the car can accelerate from nothing to 60 mph, yeah its useless.

maybe not useless, but how often are you going to go full throttle for just long enough to get to 60, and then let off again,

ANY 0-60 under 5 seconds has a load to do with tire grip anyway
like the 300hp mustang gt is only 0.1 second slower than the gt500 to 60
but drive both cars and you would notice a world of difference

but anyway the first link seems to be pretty accurate

The Mustang GT's fastest 0-60 ever recorded by a magazine is .1 seconds slower than the slowest 0-60 ever recorded for the GT-500. Stop skewing.

0-60 isn't pointless.

ill admit to the skewing lol, but still, you'd expect maybe at least .5 or .6 of a difference between the two

and I said 0-60 wasnt useless

Lightweight cars w/ small motors will have a nice 0-60 and then fade away at higher speeds. Much like my car does :\

Small motors tend to have significantly lower torque than horsepower, so no the 0-60 would be the worst of the power band.

Those motors are going to stink throughout the powerband, at any speed, especially at higher speeds.

0-60, or more like 0-35, is their best run from the experiences I've had.

I am driving an '02 honda accord 4 cyl for the season and it is very jumpy in low gear... and that's about it.

Accelerating at highway speeds is a nightmare.

For example, my car has an estimated faster or equally as fast 0-60 as my dad's sl500, but there is no doubt in my mind (since I drive both cars on occasion) that the sl would blow it away at high speeds. 60-80.. 50-70...doesn't matter.

I have my friends '99 miata outside. I'll go give it a run just to see if this holds true or not.
