cracked flexplate

I discovered that I have a crackedflex plate. It's been cracked for about a month. It is a Pioneer Performance plate I've had installed since the engine swap in mid-2003. It has almost 50K miles on it. What would cause it to crack?

I am torn right now on what I should do. I still have my stock plate in storage from the old 350. The teeth are hardly worn, it is still in good condition, but it has 130,000 miles on it. How well would my stock plate hold up if I bracket race my car? Should I re-use the stock one or should I get a new plate?

Why delete your post in the first place? You'd have been better off leaving the poll out and asking the question normally, in a post....

Alrighty then. I reposted the original topic. Only did what I did because I couldn't delete the thread I started. Was hoping a moderator would delete it. I've resolved the situation about the plate. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I would have happily deleted it for you at your request, but you weren't clear on what you had actually intended to do, lol. Oh well, no harm done.
