Everyone's starting way too early...I can't say that I've decided who I'm going for, but at this point, if I had to pick someone, it'd be John McCain, followed by Chris Dodd.

Hillary is my least favourite, and Obama seems too inexperienced IMO.

It seems Hillary doesn't have a shot, which I don't mind. I like what I've heard of Gulliani's (sp?) plans, but don't think he's got much of a shot either. Obama has a damn good chance, his lack of experience means that opponents will have less dirt to dig up on him. Can't say I've looked into it as much as I should have, but as Chris said, it's still early.

I like Canada, but our politics just seems boring lol...I'm thinking of actually taking political science in a US university...Or I might take engineering

You'll need to convince me that I should root for you (not being able to vote for more than 1 reason lol). Also, I heard these campaigns are going to be the most expensive, costing like a billion dollars...Get collecting.

Since We can't have Howard, a petition has been started to get Fred Dalton Thompson to run. 800k sigs in 6 days, last I checked. The rest all pretty much suck. They did start way to early.

Who is Fred Dalton Thompson? Was he some sitcom star from the 80's (referencing the usage of three names that was popular amongst stars in the 1980's, i.e. Tiffany Amber Thiesen, Mark Paul Gosslar, Soliel Moon Frye, etc.)?

He was a senator from Tennessee. He now stars in a tv series called "Law and Order." One of the few left with common sense. He is a Repub. Google the guy.

I have been a Dem for forty years. It scares the hell of of me to to think the moonbats could take over. Thompson would be a good one.

Some people think I'm crazy, but I think John Edwards would be a great candidate. I listened to him a bit and the guy is intelligent. Had he ran against Bush the last time, I would have voted for him. Instead, they put Herman Munster in as the Presidential Candidate. Things would have been different indeed.

I like Barack Obama as well. He's another highly intelligent individual and I entirely support his stance on religeon and politics. I started watching him following his commentary during the 2004 elections. I was surprised he wasn't running. Again, he would have been an excellent candidate back then.

Ahh, I know who he is now. I love Law & Order. I'll have to see what his views are...

My deciding vote will be based on: plans to remedy the social security problem, the war and future plans for that, how the candidates plan on balancing religeon and politics (not to intertwine), plans to remedy the growing illiteracy rate and lowered test scores nationwide, plans to reconcile world differences and the hate that has been bestowed upon America, plans for global warming, and most importantly how they plan on providing a more affordable healthcare plan for individuals who may not be able to afford coverage and/or lowering the rising cost of coverage for those who currently do have coverage.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!

I have been a member of the Democrat party for 40 years. Right now there is not one that I can trust. As a business man who has employed hundreds of people during my career, I can say the Dems have hurt me, my family, my company, and my country, more than you can imagine. There are certain things which come with age. One of those is wisdom. I use that wisdom now to tell you that, there is nothing in the heart of John Edwards that will help this country. Obama is a Muslim who will sell this country out the first chance he gets.

We are at war. It is a war we must win. Just because we leave Iraq doesn't mean the other side will stop fighting. If we leave without winning, Europe will fall to Muslim control within the next 15 years. I have written several articles about this subject, but they are two long to post. If you are interested pm me an address and I will send them to you. I don't have a place to post them.

Since 911, there have been over 7835 more terrorist attacks around the world. There has probably been two more, in the time it took me to type this. Two many people think the US is the cause of all this, but these attacks have been going on since 1920. Right now there are 44 armed conflicts on this planet. Most are being conducted by Muslims, in their quest for world domination. And the world stands by and does nothing. I remember when the world thought Hilter was a good guy, and the US was bad.

If you would like my articles pm me with an email addy. I can also explain why you should not fear God in your government.

What the heck, let's talk about God....
In only two hundred years, this country became the greatest nation in the history of the world, and now all out war has been declared on God. If you left-wingers think that destroying God in
America will improve your life, if you think removing God and prayer will improve your life, if
you think removing God from all public buildings will improve you're your life, then all I can say
is: "God help you."

God, whether you believe in him or not, does matter. The people, who truly do believe, will treat you better, be your friend, love you like a brother, and use truth and fairness in their everyday dealings with you. The constant reminder of God in our public places helps Christians. They were not placed there to torment nonbelievers, but were installed by men who really felt that God was the only way to peace and prosperity, and who wish to be reminded of his constant presence. It constantly reminds us to treat you as someone who we respect and love. Take all that away and we will become just as godless as you and most liberals. Will the United States really be a better place then? We the people, in order to form a more perfect union. Do you think there can be a perfect union without God? Do you really think America could have become the greatest nation in the world without God?

The Word of God has caused men to excel far above what they could normally accomplish. I am not trying to convince you to accept God into you life, I am just saying God has made this country what it is. It was built by men of God, defended by men of God, its laws were written by men of God, and it makes no difference if you do not believe in God, because they did. Throughout history, over and over, God has reached out his divine hand and prevented us from perishing from the face of the earth. There have been wars we should have lost, disease's we should have succumbed to, natural disasters which should have destroyed us, financial difficulties, and on and on. But America always rebounded, faster then any other nation in the history of the world. And you think that happened without God? Do you think Americans are just smarter then the rest of the world? Remember we took the worlds tired, and poor, and huddled masses, all yearning to be free, under God. Do you think we received only their best and brightest? We led the world in manufacturing, medicine, inventions, human rights, agriculture, and a host of other miracles. And you think we were just smarter then other countries. If you believe this is the greatest country in the world, then the concept of GOD has to be taken into account for its existence.

It should not bother you to pause while people bow their heads and pray, it's only polite. It should not bother you to see a copy of the ten commandments in a public building, it only has
significance for Christians, you can just ignore it. However do you think you are a better person if you ignore these ten simple little rules? It should not anger you to see a nativity scene at
Christmas, regardless of its location. You fight against things which bring out the best in men and fight for foul language and pornography the things that bring out the worst in men, and call it free speech. You feel that one night of selfish lust is a good reason to kill you children, and that makes the world a better place. Your comedians no longer have the ability to make people laugh without using four letter words, and you think this is funny and a good thing.

There are many countries in the world that do not have God. Is there just one, you would prefer
to live in? I now submit, that when you have deleted God from America, then America will
change and no longer be the America you love. Without God, there will be anarchy of the soul
and men will turn to beasts. Then you will be bothered, and I am afraid it has already started to
happen. The world is still a place ruled by Newton's law, "for every action there is an equal and
opposite reaction." We must all think of our actions.

Separation of Church and State, means that neither can influence the other. It does not mean they
should totally ignore one another. When the government produces laws against God, (prayer in
school, removal of the Ten Commands, etc.), then that separation has been compromised.

The above words are only the thoughts of an old man. I write them not in anger, but to incite
thought. They are based on my feelings, and experiences in life, and not even I can guarantee the
total truth to all my memories. However, there are a few points that bare discussion, just leave
your anger at home. An open mind will allow you and your family the growth and prosperity you
deserve, but a closed mind will create problems in your future, that you can't imagine. Your life
cannot be lived over. You cannot start fresh and undo all the bad you did. I only ask that before
you seek social change, that the future effects of your actions are properly explored. Really try to
understand, not just who might be helped, but who might also be hurt.

Here's a thread I made about global warming. Make sure you read ChrisV's post too.

BTW, jcutsh, I totally agree with almost everything you've said in those posts. I'm reading a book now, called Do-Gooders: How Liberals Hurt Those They Claim to Help (and the Rest of Us)...Which basically talks about what you did lol.
