Car-Forums back on top?

I just typed 'Car forums' in to Yahoo search and saw that we were the number one listing. Might not seem like much I guess, but the last time I checked (a few months back as CF is in my favourites so there's no need to search) we were on like page 2 or something. Google is another matter (page-3 I think), but I assume something has been done by UFF to rank us higher up? I guess this is obviously better for n00bs when they search (common sense tells me that, lol), but does anybody know how this stuff works, and how rankings are organised? Thanx guys!

There's a whole lot of factors that go into a website's search engine ranking, and a company can pay to be closer to the top I believe. But things like how many sites link to the site in question, how clean the HTML is, and what sort of text is in the headlines and titels of the pages also affect it.

I'm not sure about other search engines but I know google has a very advanced way of deciding your ranking. Google uses not only the normal META tags, links, and some other stuff, they also use how much traffic the site has, more indepth then most other search engines probly go.

This link explains how google ranks websites.

I am also an SEE - search engine expert well others told me that I am anyways I think you should be 1st on every single search engine, and that is quite possible, except by google you might go 2nd all the time because of carforums.com....anyways you guys should know how to do stuff....

I see many things wrong with your forum why is it not ranking no.1.....

Anyways 2-3-4-5-..9th places are very good to keep on search engines, thats how i found you !

I think your link is only worth 20% of Google ranking, for Google ranking takes much more then that....
