Advice needed: start old car

My father owns an old Maserati, which has been slepping in a garage for 10 years or so. Now he wants to get it running and so he needs advice. How should he approach this project? Where are the traps?

hopeful and thankful

hope someone who knows about cars can help you, only advice i know to give is that after 10 years, any gas that may have been left in vehicle should be drained and replaced. due to gas varnishing. sorry couldnt help more.

I'd probably change all of the fluids, check the hoses, and I'm betting you'll need new tires. I've never done anything like this, so there's probably more, but that's all I can think of.

when i get a demo dery car, i pull the plugs and dump a little trans fluid, diesel, or pb blaster down the cylinders. let it sit awhile, maybe a day, sometimes a week before i get back to it, then see if she'll turn over with the plugs out. then i change the oil, then try to fire her up.

drain all fluids, check the battery...dont forget to replace the fluids lol, and start er up..might take a few minutes, but shell go just let it run for a bit to get everything curculating again, and then id do stuff like compression checks, hose checks, just go over everything twice because a lot could have happened over the time its been standing. remember if you squeeze the hose and it breaks, replace. also spark plugs should be changed as well
