I am thinking to import a car from japan but this is the first itme to do so. I know that car needs to be tested SVA if the car is under 10 years. But what do they do actually? if tha car failed, does it mean I cant have it? pls advise anything on importing a car from japan!! If anyone did yourself, please tell me anything!! tata

If the don't have test data already, here's what they do (at your expense): Take your newly imported car, attach some sensors and other things, and then crush it. What exactly are you trying to import?

Ooops, didn't see you were from across the pond. I don't know how importing works over there, but over here the government needs crash test data. If they don't have that data for the car your trying to register, the government takes your car at your expense and they get their crash test data one way or another.
