umm help!!! please!!!

i started my car up today and it would shift into any of the gears. When i tried shifting in to reverse, it made a bad grinding sound =( when i tried starting it in reverse, it could barely idle. so any help or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

auto or manual?
could be a clutch / torque converter issue. Any more details would be helpful though.

manual....umm the clutch pedal feels fine i just cant shift... i dont know. anyways.. thanks!

In future, please just start ONE thread per problem. I have just wasted my time replying to the one you posted in the wrong place! Here's what I wrote;

oh oops sorry about that. but anyways thanks now i know! and also ive heard it could be a leak w/the master cylinder. anyways thanks a lot! just wondering what you guys thought

haha shit that happened to me in the truck i just replaced the whole clutch and it worked fine after, but don't go out replacin shit you don't need to

haha yea thanks. anyways from all the other threads ive been reading, it must be the master cylinder leaking. But im not too sure how to check that or where it is or anything. so any help would be great!
