Beer!

Damn this place is suckin'. In an effort to revive a once great forum, let's try some "impossible to argue about unless you're trying" threads. I'll start, the subject is beer. The majority of members are old enough to legally drink and even most of the youngsters probably do. So the question is, what is your favorite beer (ale, lager, porter, stout, etc) and why? I suppose I have a responsibility to start, so...

Hands down favorite; Guinness. Simply because I enjoy the the stout flavor... And it makes you healthy. The best in the world, but only on draught, in a pint glass, at a pub in the UK.

Domestic favorite; Yuengling Black & Tan. Almost as heavy as Guinness without any bitterness. Clean buzz. Locally available. Not too expensive.

Lifelong standby; Busch or Busch Light. Cheap, readily available everywhere, goes down fast and east, especially good almost frosted. I was 19 years old before I knew you could drive a car without one between your legs. (Disclaimer. That is hyperbole. I was actually 18.)

Next.

I'm gonna have to say corona or heineken. I guess just grew on me as it was the most readily available beer at parties and what not. Corona needs a lime to be a corona though hands down.

Most of my experience is on European beers (because it's easier to get alcohol there lol).
The most memorable ones were Kaiser, which was pretty good.
I've also tried this other type called "Stolichno", which is apparently a bock beer, which means it's stronger or something. Didn't particularly like it (tasted like soy sauce).

Favorites here would have to be Papst Blue Ribbon, Grolsch, and to some extent Labatt Blue.

Slightly off topic, but anybody here ever try Ouzo?

Crates of Grolsch in the ceramic flip top bottles straight off the truck from Holland... Yum! When I was younger I was almost to the point of having Ouzo on an IV drip. Good stuff, but too sweet for my taste now.

My dad love Guinness, for me it is a lil too heavy. Must be an acquired taste. My favorite beers are:

New Glarus Spotted Cow

Corona

Blue Moon

and to top it off, Capital Brewery Maibock

Favorite readily-availible go-to is Bud. I've never had a light beer that I liked, and I also don't like Guiness (I'll agree with what was said earlier in that it's probably an aquired taste). Car Bombs are delicious though, so maybe I'm coming around to Guiness. I like a lot of Brick beers too. I haven't really been able to try much exotic stuff.

I do a little homebrewing, but when my parents found out and didn't really care it took most of the fun out of it. My last batch of Belgian (triple) came out pretty good if I may say so myself.

As far as "normal" beers, I drink Guinness.

But my favorite beer is Lindeman's Framboise. Raspberry beer. So good to me.

In mexico, definetly corona.

Usually drinkin Busch cause like hobo said it does go down easy and its really cheap.
Also like keystone light, most hate it and granted it tastes like shit, but after drinking it all through high school, its really grown on me. Goes great with some jack or crown. haha

Here lately its usually been coors light

Well I did a bunch of legal drinking in London, so I have a few...mostly cause they didnt taste watered down and remind me of the trip

Guiness (had this in the hotel lobby definately very thick)
Stella Artois (had this on the plane)
Fosters (had this at the pub)

Here I drink

Becks
Corona (lime is a must)
Heineken
Yeungling (sp??)
Obolon 6 or 9
Molson XXX

not a fan of guiness cause of its consistency...just feels really thick compared to other beers...not a fan of dark beer in general

non-beer faves my friend mixes them so i duno how much of what goes in

Bullshot (vodka, redbull)
Moroccan Martini (duno the recepie, but tryin to find out)
Peppermint Schnaps (sp??)

Really I'll drink almost any kind of beer.. but lately it's mostly been Bud and Bud Light. I've never really experienced foreign beers yet but have heard some good things. I like many others here seem to feel the same way about the Guiness lol.

I remeber one night me and all the buddys were playing cards and we had a few too many and I go "SHIT, THE MOUNTAINS ARE BLUE!". So we were taking a beer out and heating it up and then then getting them cold then heating them up to watch the mountains change.

It was retarded but we were pretty shitty so we thought it was the coolest thing in the world
