Egine identification

Hi I am having trouble identifying the engine in a 1947 jeep cj2a i just got. The engine is not original. I think it might be some sort of GM V6. The number i found on the top of the engine cast closest to the back of the engine. The number was B-1262204-A. The carburetor has GM Dual Jet 210 on it. I know its a V6 im just not sure what year and what type of engine because I'll need parts soon. If anyone knows please help me out. Here's some pics of the engine.

Based on the carburetor, emission control items, distributor and accessories installed, it appears to be a 231 CI/3.8L Buick V6 from the late '70s, early '80s. I'm sure that if you do some research on the casting number you should be able to narrow it down from there.
