'98 Chevy Cavalier- Weird Noise

Hey Guys,

My sister drives a '98 Chevy Cavilier. Yesterday she filled her car with a bottle of 10W30 oil. (No one supervised this, btw.) She drove it a couple blocks an hour afterwards and noticed nothing.

Today, she went out and started it. It started normally, she got a couple blocks away and it started making an agressive "grinding, booming(?)," noise. It doesn't happen in park, only when accelerating.

Any insight you could give would be awesome.

why did she put oil in it? was there something she was trying to remedy, or did the dipstick indicate she was low? and how much oil is in it now?

You're WAY too vague. We'd need to know at least where the noise was coming from before anybody could attempt a decent diagnosis. Aside from giving the car a once over (check oil, look at gauges, etc) I don't know what to say.
