K-series transmission problems

OK so we are buying up little sports cars for the spring season at work, and the RSX-s was brought up on the possible list of buys, but from what I hear they have a weak link in the transmissions. Gear grinds, gear popping, and total gear/transmission/syncro faliures are a common issue with these cars (6-speed models).

We have a rather strong policy against buying problematic cars, and were wondering if anyone knew more about these issues, and if Honda ever took a step to fix them, and if so at what time so we can aim for certain year cars that dont have these issues. Thanks
