help on nissan

the rad fan will not turn off what could be the problem ???89nissan pulsar nx

i guess it could be a temperature sensor or like he said relay

Check that the thermostat is opening/closing properly.

check the thermostat. one of my friends had similiar problem, and turned out to be the thermostat.

well it kinda depends on wether he has an electric fan or mechanicall drivin fan.
me i have an electric fan and i had the same problem as him. and it was my temperature sensor relay that was the colprit. it wasnt reading my engine temp . so i replaced it and my fan works properly

I haven't looked up the wiring diagrams on the Pulsar but these are two basic ways these systems work

1. a temperature switch energizes a fan relay which runs the fan (the AC relay will either turns on this fan via the fan relay or another fan when the AC is on)
2. A temperature sending unit will send a variable voltage signal to the ECM which energizes the fan relay (s) - the ecm also receives an input from the AC relay
