Oil Light Flickering

Hi Everybody,
I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS and sometimes when I'm idling my oil light flickers on and just with a tap at the gas it goes away? Why is this? Also I have a question about the intake on this type of car can u manufacture your own home-made cold-air intake ... I know you can on the 99's. Thanks for any help its very appretiated.

Check the oil level first off (with the car at operating temp and off). The oil lights generally comes on when oil pressure is low. If its flickering on, it could mean the pressure is just dropping low enough for a split second.

or a bad sending unit - verify engine has adequate oil pressure with a gage then if is good, replace sending unit

Cheap Engine Oil Filter

I had this problem with a vw. where did you get your oil changed. they may have put in a really really cheap oil filter, which affects oil pressure.
